Why We Are Building
The Vineyard Platform

Over the past several years, God has led us through an ongoing journey of changing job positions and professional transitions.

At times it was stressful. At times uncertain. Yet as we looked back, we began to notice something surprising: with each change, God was quietly doing something deeper.

What first appeared to be disruption often turned out to have purpose.

Whether our work felt stable or the possibility of change appeared on the horizon, moments of fear and anxiety would still emerge. And in those moments we often sensed God inviting us to pause — to step back and try to understand more deeply what He might be doing in that particular season.

Sometimes the waiting was short.
Sometimes the waiting was long.

During those seasons, though, we always tried to walk closely with Him in prayer, asking for clarity and trying to make sense of what was unfolding. At times the waiting seemed to be about the right timing. At other times it drew us into deeper trust and prayer.

Although there were moments when it felt like God was late, somehow He was always on time. And He never abandoned us. In His time, the right opportunity would appear — often in ways we did not expect.

St. Joseph also played an important role in this journey, though that is a story we hope to share more fully in the future.

At the same time, we began noticing a similar pattern among many friends and colleagues around us — talented professionals with strong skills, good education, and years of experience who were struggling to navigate the modern job market.

  • Some faced unexpected layoffs.

  • Others spent months sending applications without hearing back.

  • Many felt something quieter but just as real: a desire for work that was more meaningful, more aligned with their strengths, or more connected to their deeper sense of calling.

And gradually something became clear to us: the job market itself had changed.

Most opportunities were no longer discovered simply through applications. They were found through relationships — through trusted conversations, introductions, and communities where people help one another move forward. Yet many professionals were trying to navigate these challenges alone.

As Catholics, we also noticed another tension. In a largely secular professional world, faith and work often feel separated — even though work occupies such a large part of our lives and shapes our responsibilities toward our families.

And yet God is present in this part of life as well.

He gives us work not only so that we can provide for ourselves and our families — He is the ultimate provider — but also so that through our work He may shape us into mature, faithful people who gradually discover their deeper mission in life.

These experiences eventually led us to create The Vineyard Platform.

Our hope is to build a community where Catholic professionals can connect with one another, share opportunities, grow in their work, and support each other spiritually along the way.

Through networking, mentoring, small groups, learning resources, and shared prayer, we hope to create a place where professionals can navigate their careers with wisdom, hope, and the encouragement of others who understand both the practical and spiritual dimensions of work.

The name of the Vineyard Platform comes from the parable of the workers in the vineyard (Matthew 20:1–16).

In the story, the vineyard owner returns to the marketplace again and again throughout the day, inviting workers into his vineyard — even those who are still standing there late in the day, unsure whether anyone will hire them.

The parable speaks powerfully to seasons of waiting and uncertainty. It reminds us that no moment is outside God’s attention. Even when opportunities seem delayed, God continues to guide, open doors, and provide in ways we often cannot yet see.

In the same way, our professional lives unfold within His providence. Whether we are searching, waiting, growing, or stepping into something new, God remains the one who ultimately leads us to the work prepared for us — in His time and with His generosity.

About us

Filip Ponulak is a technology leader, AI expert, and Catholic entrepreneur committed to using innovation in ways that put people and faith first. In addition to co-founding The Vineyard Platform, he is the founder and president of the Abba Father Institute, a Catholic nonprofit dedicated to new evangelization through modern media and technology.

He has spent his career helping organizations tackle hard problems using AI, data, and analytics. But what inspires him is not the technology itself, but the people it serves.

He co-founded The Vineyard Platform because he saw a real gap: talented, faith-filled professionals facing career uncertainty with nowhere to turn that spoke to both their professional needs and their Catholic identity. His vision is to build a community where practical career support, meaningful relationships, and Catholic faith come together.
